Iberian Architecture: Reencounters (July 5 and 6)

Iberian Architecture: Reencounters (July 5 and 6)

Next July the Fundación Arquitectura y Sociedad promotes the programme "Iberian Architecture" which aims to foster the relationship between Portugal and Spain in the scope of new architecture.

The programme is divided into two parts, both taking place in Valladolid: a workshop curated by Jacobo García-Germán and the “Reencounters" programme, curated by Ariadna Cantis and organized in partnership with the Lisbon Architecture Triennale.

These "Reencounters" will take place on July 5 and 6 and resume the idea of the "Iberian Encounters" started in 1997 by the architects Álvaro Siza Vieira and Rafael Moneo, which aimed to provide young architects from both countries the opportunity to show their projects and see their work assessed. During these two days, a group of 11 architects (six from Portugal and five from Spain), critics and teachers from two generations will discuss the proposals in an environment of creative exchange.

Eduardo Souto de Moura, Francisco Mangado, Ariadna Cantis, Jacobo García-Germán and Camilo Rebelo were invited as critics for this programme.

The final discussion of “Reencounters” is broadcasted live by the Triennale on July 6 at 4:00pm (GMT) at its headquarters
Campo de Santa Clara, 142-145
1100-474 Lisbon
