A filled auditorium for MVRDV

On the last 11 November, the main auditorium of CCB filled once again for Critical Distance conference, this time with Jacob van Rijs of MVRDV.

The architect addressed an audience of 1052 people (904 with a paid ticket), to whom he presented a selection of projects of his emblematic Dutch studio which he, together with Winy Maas and Nathalie de Vries, founded in 1993.

Critical Distance is an international conference series whose second edition is happening between 2014-2016, in co-production with Centro Cultural de Belém. Each conference includes a lecture given by a renowned architect followed by a dialogue with Portuguese architecture critics and curators extended to the audience.

This edition of the Critical Distance series will finish on 17 February with a conference by Ellen van Loon of studio OMA, followed by a conversation with Pedro Baía.
