Kate Orff is the founder of SCAPE, an urban design and landscape architecture studio based in New York, and director of the Urban Design Programme at Columbia University. She is the author of Toward an Urban Ecology (Monacelli, 2016) and co-author, with photographer Richard Misrach, of Petrochemical America (Aperture Foundation, 2012). Kate was named a United States Artist Fellow in 2012 and has been inducted into the National Academy for her design work. In 2015 she received the American Academy of Arts and Letters Award for Architecture.
