LINA, an international alliance of European cultural institutions dedicated to architecture and other spatial practices, launches its fifth open call for emerging creative voices. Selected applications join the LINA Architecture Programme; up to 22 also take part in the LINA Forum, in Barcelona, in October 2026.

Applications are open to residents and nationals of Creative Europe countries and Switzerland, with no academic requirements or age limit, and no participation fee.

On Thursday 23 July, the Lisbon Triennale Cultural Centre will host another public event as part of the development of 'Engaging Manoeuvres', an exhibition curated by Francisco Moura Veiga which will open this autumn. 

This is the third of three conversations that will take place between professionals from two different generations, one born in the 60s and another in the 80s, exploring alternative visions of what constitutes a good home. Drawing on the 'turncoat' format, each participant will present a project by someone from the opposite generation, encouraging a constructive exchange between different contexts, references, and ways of living.

In parallel, until November, sixteen emerging studios will be invited to develop optimistic projects in response to a present characterised by environmental instability, social transformation, and material scarcity.

With the courtyard serving as a screen, the summer evening of Friday 28 August will host the session ‘This Must Be The Place – Body, Territory and Dissident Ecologies’, curated by João Mourão and Luís Silva of Kunsthalle Lissabon.

Bringing together works by Manauara Clandestina, Elyla, Isadora Neves Marques and Zheng Bo, the programme explores the intersections of body, territory and political imagination through queer, decolonial and speculative perspectives. The four works address migration, memory, resistance, political ecologies and forms of coexistence between human and non-human life. The screening is preceded by a conversation between Cristiana Tejo and the curators. 

The 18th edition of FUSO Lisboa takes place from 25 to 29 August at various venues across the city. FUSO Insular, in São Miguel, the Azores, takes place on 30 and 31 October.

Over five days, participants will create everything from a shelter for insects to an imaginary city for animals, discovering different scales of architecture through drawing, construction and experimentation. There will also be time for water games, reading and relaxing in the courtyard.

Bring the whole family to 'A House Called Equality' and join Inês Blanc for another story time. If the world is our extended home and we have rules at home, we must ensure that everyone follows them and has the same rights. 

This storytelling session with narrative rugs is a time for affection and for strengthening bonds. A time for listening and dreaming, when characters leap off the pages of the book and come to life as colorful cloth puppets — faithful to the illustrations of those who imagined them — and transport us back to a childhood when we felt cherished.

Inês Blanc is an architect by profession and a storyteller by passion. For over a decade, she has been dedicated to promoting books and reading in schools, libraries, and bookstores. Using the 'narrative rugs' methodology, she has already taken her 'Contamimando' project to several countries (over the past year and a half, she spent time in Mozambique and São Tomé and Príncipe at the invitation of Camões—Portuguese Cultural Center) and to more than 4,000 children and young people.
