Forum responds to sustainability challenge
On 12 December, the 5th Conferência anual da política nacional de arquitectura e paisagem took place, a face-to-face event in which we participated, also broadcast in live streaming. The theme for 2022 is «Arquitectura e paisagem na transição para a sustentabilidade - todos somos protagonistas».
At the invitation of the DGPC, José Mateus, president of the Triennale, took part in the panel Identidade na arquitectura e na paisagem, moderated by Manuel Lacerda, with the communication “Terra, caminhos para a sustentabilidade ambiental, na 6.ª edição da Trienal de Arquitectura de Lisboa”, which you can watch here.
In the year we are celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Stockholm Conference and the 35th anniversary of the United Nations report "Our Common Future", efforts are being made to ensure the word sustainability does not become void, and the concept is translated into concrete actions. This was the challenge launched to architecture, landscape and heritage management, and the response from a diverse range of speakers showed examples of success and discussed what the discipline does to accelerate the transition to sustainability.
This meeting was promoted by Direcção-Geral do Território, Direcção-Geral do Património Cultural, Portuguese Order of Architects and Portuguese Association of Landscape Architects.
