Graduated in Mechanic Engineering by the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (1978). In his professional path, he has worked with several companies and business associations like Associação Industrial Portuense, Associação dos Industriais Metalúrgicos, Metalomecânicos e Afins de Portugal, Exponor, Europarque, amongst others. He is the Vice-President of the Assembleia Geral da AEP (since 2008). Currently, he is the director of the EDP Foundation and a columnist of newspaper Expresso.
