Unquestionably one of the most relevant cultural centres in Portugal, it is run by a foundation whose objective is to promote culture, developing creation and dissemination in all artistic dimensions. It is also a privileged location for professional conferences and meetings. The spaces of the Cultural Centre have hosted several exhibitions part of the Triennale's main event, every three years. From their second cycle onwards, Critical Distance conferences have also been co-produced by CCB and the Lisbon Triennale. In 2019, the partnership is strengthened when CCB becomes an associate member of the Triennale.
