The Portuguese Association of Architects is the public association that represents architecture professionals in Portugal, regulating the profession and promoting architecture within and beyond borders. It was created in 1998 notwithstanding a long associative history, whose formal origin dates back to 1863. By promoting and advocating better conditions for professional architectural practice, it seeks to ensure the quality and sustainability of the built environment in Portugal. The Triennale is born within the Portuguese Association of Architects, which has been an associate member since the beginning, in 2010.
