Recycled canvasses for Iminente Festival

Cooperation between cultural institutions is of utmost importance for the viability of projects. This time, the occasion arrives with the donation of large façade canvas screens from the Palácio Sinel de Cordes for the workshop to be held at the Vale de Chelas/Associação Geração com Futuro, organised by Festival Iminente, a festival where expressions of urban culture on a global scale come together in an explosion of creativity and entertainment. Orientation is done by El Warcha collective, a collaborative and multidisciplinary group that offers practical education through occupational workshops for the construction of creative spaces and the promotion of self-employment in the most vulnerable communities.

Aimed at teenagers between the ages of 10 and 18, the workshop takes place from 24 August to 3 September 2021 as a creative space to encourage playing and co-creation by both children and adults in the community, in one of the squares or social spaces in the neighbourhood. The workshop seeks to involve young people in the creation of sound toys and recreational furniture for the public space, toys made from recycled materials that encourage creativity and musical education, and even a shaded space through the development of outdoor furniture. The final object is collaboratively developed and will allow the creation of a social space for children and adults with playful and creative use related to music, an interest shared by most children in the neighbourhood.

The donation also allows for a new use of Triennale's promotional material which is obsolete, meeting the demand for a more sustainable management
