LINA celebrates anniversary with open call
LINA celebrates its first year at Isola della Certosa in Venice, joining in the event by MAXXI, National Museum of 21st Century Arts, titled 'BioGrounds: For a new environmental awareness'. Gathering fellows and members for conversational walks winding across the Venetian island, the event was also the occasion to launch an open call for the next generation of LINA fellows, open until 1 August 2023.
Applicants regardless of their age, teams included, are invited to apply with their radical ideas, practical solutions, theoretical insights or thought-provoking practices addressing the environmental crisis. The 25 selected applications will be invited to co-create an international architecture programme emcompassing a series of events taking place across Europe and the Mediterranean in cooperation with 32 institutions working at the intersection of architecture and other fields related to spatial culture.
Within this programme, the Lisbon Triennale invites each year two emerging professionals to conceive and perform a tour across Europe as a moving residence from their place of residence and Lisbon and compiles the results in a collection of essays (sound, written or visual) under the name Periple Duet. The first pair, Ajda Bračič and Tevi Allan Mensah, returns to Lisbon at the end of May for a presentation event and roundtable. In parallel, we host a series of Takeovers, in which members of this platform are invited to invade and programme events at Palácio Sinel de Cordes, with Forecast hosting the first edition at the end of April.
