Triennale and Universidade Católica create cooperation partnership
Call for submissions: 11 January to 21 February, 2021
Applications to be sent to: lxsummerschool [at] gmail.com
The partnership, made official in January 2021, aims to host work placements for undergraduate and master’s students in Cultural Studies and Marketing & Communication, offering them the possibility of getting in touch with a cultural institution that has a consolidated path with more than thirteen years of regular activity. This way, the Triennale joins the body of twelve national institutions and foundations of this cooperation network, namely the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Portuguese Cinematheque, National Theatre and Dance Museum, Culturgest, Fundação Oriente, CNC (National Culture Centre), Oceanário de Lisboa, Parques de Sintra-Monte da Lua, EDP Foundation, Millennium bcp Foundation, Amélia de Mello Foundation and Lisbon City Hall.
The hosting of curricular and extracurricular work placements at the Triennale has a variable duration and aims to add practical experience to the knowledge acquired, so that students are more prepared for the job market, which represents an added value they acknowledge, in terms of contacts and experience in the world of arts.
In parallel, this protocol comprises hosting the closing session of The Lisbon Consortium Summer School’s 11th edition with a conference and a celebration dinner at Palácio Sinel de Cordes, in June 2021. The Summer School represents the final activity of 4Cs as a European cooperation project co-financed by Creative Europe. The call for proposals on the theme Convivial Cultures is taking place from 11 January and 21 February 2021. This call is aimed at PhD students and postgraduate researchers. Headed by Universidade Católica Portuguesa, 4Cs brings together seven other renowned international institutions - Tensta Konsthall, Royal College of Art, ENSAD, Vilnius Arts Academy, SAVVY, Roskilde Museum of Contemporary Art, and Fundació Antoni Tàpies. Católica’s master’s degree in Cultural Studies is considered by the Eduniversal ranking as the 4th best program within the scope of Cultural Management and Creative Industries. Mostly aimed at students of Humanities and Social Sciences, this master's degree aims to disseminate the multidisciplinary field of cultural studies, as well as to foster a structured discussion of cultural phenomena.
For the Lisbon Triennale, it is critical to invest continuously in strengthening relations with different areas of higher education, both nationally and abroad. The Lisbon Triennale Millennium bcp Universities Competition, which started in the 1st edition of the international architecture forum that lends us its name, is a representative example of this proximity.
