We attended the Young Talent EU Mies awards 2023
As a member of the jury, the Triennale Executive Director Manuel Henriques joined the event announcing the Mies van der Rohe Young Talent award winners on June 29, 2023. As part of the collateral events of the Venice Architecture Biennale, the ceremony took place at the European Cultural Centre located at the baroque Palazzo Michiel in Cannaregio district, overlooking the Grand Canal.
A second moment with all finalists was hosted at Palazzo Mora, where our executive director made an opening speech of the Young Talents Award exhibition in representation of all jury members. Manuel Henriques praised the vast and eclectic universe of participants, congratulating the dedication of all new generations of architects who bring innovative and fresh visions for the discipline.
Organised by Mies van der Rohe Foundation's with the European Commission, these prizes aim to "support young graduates in architecture, urbanism and landscape architecture who are responsible for transforming our environment in the future." The director of culture, creativity and sport in the European Commission, Mr. Georg Häusler, stated that “Young Talent is a key example of the aims of the European Year of Skills, in which these architects and those that will have the opportunity to work with them will be empowered to successfully handle professional challenges and to fully engage in society”.
