Lisbon Triennale distinguished with Public Interest Status
Created between 2005/06, the Lisbon Triennale became a private, non-profit cultural association in 2010. It was awarded the Public Interest Status by the Portuguese Government, made official and published in the Official Journal on 8 November 2013.
“Being awarded the Public Interest Status, which reflects the recognition of the highly relevant role the Triennale has played in Portuguese society, contributes definitively and quite justly to the consolidation of our project.
This decision is not only a source of great pride to us; it is with a profound sense of responsibility that we have received the news, especially at a time of great hardship for our country, with such a severe impact on national architecture.”
José Mateus, Chairman of the Board of Lisbon Triennale
