Ismaili Centre

  • Original Authors:
  • Frederico Valsassina Arquitectos ,
  • Raj Rewal Associates
  • (1998)

Built from scratch, it is a unique example of this type of architecture in our country, having been inspired by principles and traditions of Islamic contexts, combined with those of the Iberian Peninsula, combining a contemporary construction technique with local materials. The Ismaili Centres are symbolic landmarks of the permanent presence and the core values of the Ismaili Muslim Community throughout the world. Through their design and function, they reflect a spirit of humility, vision, friendship and dialogue. Members of the Ismaili Muslim Community are active in civil society, working in various fields and contributing their time, knowledge and material resources for the betterment of the community and societies among which they live, using these spaces to facilitate the promotion of cultural, educational and social programmes.
