About the Place
This complex consists of a primary school, a kindergarten, a special education unit, a music school run by the Generation Orchestra, a library, a music auditorium, a gymnasium, a canteen and support spaces. The design’s guiding principles were to be a school that is inclusive and environmentally responsible by using natural energy systems, passive heating and cooling, lighting and ventilation. The aim was also to further a sense of sharing and well-being for pupils, teachers and assistant personnel alike through the creation of play courtyards and a garden on the site. The auditorium creates an informal environment and allows for versatility of configuration in terms of the place of artists and the public.
