About the Place
With 240 accommodation units and 335 beds planned for university students, this project was conceived as a housing unit, in a reference to the famous ‘Unités d’Habitation’. These large collective housing complexes designed by Le Corbusier operated almost autonomously, with the different functional parts (housing, shops, infrastructure) clearly organised and integrated into a single organism. The residence will also function as a link and border element between the existing landscape of the Cidade Universitária campus, to the north, and a new square on the Alameda da Universidade side, to the south.
