The first building in this complex, the former headquarters of DIALAP, a diamond-cutting company, reveals a noteworthy post-war modern language and a high degree of functionality. After having been the head offices for Expo ’98 it was completely remodelled and extended to house the headquarters of RTP, the Portuguese national TV and radio broadcaster, and included studios, newsrooms, and technical and administrative areas, all organised into functional and production zones with a sophisticated technical and operational component. Three volumes of formal purity stand out from the complex of a clear geometry and contrast with surrounding elements. Its layout in the plot is heightened by the legibility of the building elements, which denote various interior functions. The treatment given to the green areas is homogeneous and the modelling of the relief unifies the plot and the roof.
