Located in an environment between Marvila and Beato that is undergoing considerable transformation, this space is an example of the change of uses and spatial evolution in line with the most recent socio-economic developments in Lisbon. The design project was for the conversion of an industrial warehouse of 270 square metres into a space with two main uses: firstly, short-term tourist accommodation; and secondly, the organisation and dynamisation of cultural, social and marketing events. The space offers two different scales and materialities in support of these two functions: the structural logic of the industrial warehouse served to create the private bedrooms, and a number of circular spaces, always tangential to each other and variable in dimensions, which in turn create the shared spaces. These two areas create a dialogue with each other, and between them and the views of the River Tagus and the industrial areas in the immediate surroundings.
