Underdogs Gallery
- Interventions:
- António Louro
- (2017 reabilitação)
This gallery is an innovative exhibition space that works with some of the most renowned contemporary international urban artists. Hosting both individual and group collections throughout the year, its mission is to create opportunities for Portuguese and foreign artists, whether they are established or emerging talents, to work in Lisbon – in the city, with the city and for the city – and also to make their work known to the general public, critics and specialists, and collectors. With an area of 388 square metres, the gallery’s rather unique space is also a meeting point where artists and the public can interact and learn from each other. The gallery features its exhibition space and a backstage area with offices and storerooms. Underdogs is an example of the new appropriation of industrial spaces in the Marvila and Beato areas and this artistic approach without doubt contributes to experiencing the city from a new perspective.
