Casa Fernando Pessoa

It was in the neighbourhood of Campo de Ourique that Fernando Pessoa lived the last 15 years of his life. A lively cultural venue today, it contains a library and the original bedroom of the writer, as well as furniture and various personal objects, such as his typewriter, glasses and notebooks. Opened in 1993, the renovation project on the building retained the original façade, central staircase and the poet’s room. On the façade, quotations from Pessoa occupy the spaces between the windows and door openings, and on the floor of the entrance one can read engraved in stone his astral chart.
