About the Place
Occupying the former Banco Nacional Ultramarino premises in Rua Augusta since 2009, this museum is dedicated to design and fashion. When the museum moved in, its first remodelling intervention maintained the “raw” state the building, which became its brand image. In later alterations the plan was also to keep to a minimum any alteration and focus on functional issues such as fluid and safe accessibility and circulation to the various areas of the museum, removing any architectural barriers for persons with disabilities.
