1. About
Every year, Open House Lisboa presents the city's architecture from a new perspective, opening spaces usually closed to the public, through free visits with authors or specialists from different areas. The 12th edition returns to Lisbon on the weekend of 13 and 14 May 2023, with a programme curated by the Lisbon studio Embaixada, with visits that show the various moments of the life cycle of a work of architecture: Void, Construction, Building, and Ruin.

To organise the event, the Triennale relies on a large family of volunteers to inform, guide and give suggestions to visitors. This participation is crucial to fully enjoy the event. For this cultural volunteering we are looking for people with team spirit and who enjoy architecture, urbanism and the history of the city, to join us in a lively weekend of discovery and celebration.
Those who visit the spaces can do so in three ways: visits guided by volunteers, visits guided by specialists and unguided free visits. You can also participate in the Urban Routes (PU), or in the Junior (activities for families), Accessible (adapted visits) and Plus (multiformat events associated with the spaces) programmes.
2. How does it work?
Each day has three shifts to choose from (morning, afternoon and evening) of approx. four and a half hours. The volunteer team is distributed in groups of two to four. To make sure there is always support on the ground, each group has a Team Leader who is the link between the volunteers and the Triennale, a Tutor who provides training, and a Logistics Support person who is always on top of things. For the Junior/Accessible programme, there is a specific team that is also involved in the preparation of these activities.Participation consists of:
- An interview (only if it is the first time)
- Preparatory visits which start two weeks before
- Getting to know the study materials and visit guides provided
- Attend the training class (approx. 1h30m), where you will receive your volunteer kit
- Fulfil at least one 4h30m shift (approximately)
The people who make up each team are invited to the various pre-visits of the spaces in the geographical area they are assigned with, so that they can also get to know other spaces in the vicinity.
3. Elegibility
