Fruta Feia is a co-operative that fights against food waste due to its appearance and has Lisbon's Palácio Sinel as its distribution point.
To celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2023, Fruta Feia organises an event inviting all people who support the project: farmers, consumers and volunteers that assemble baskets. This festive gathering includes activities for children in the morning, talks with partner organisations from the agricultural sector, and people who consume the weekly baskets put together by a team of volunteers. This exclusive party includes food and drink and music!

Fruta Feia Co-operative arises from the need to overturn the standardization trends regarding food, which have nothing to do with its’ quality and safety. This project aims to fight the market inefficiency by changing consumption patterns and creating an alternative market to “ugly” fruits and vegetables. A market that values farmers and consumers, and that can prevent food waste as well as the unnecessary use of resources to their production.
