On the 15th of December, at 5pm, we will host at the palace the presentation of four books from the collection Viagens/Journeys from Circo de Ideias, a publishing house from Porto, in the north of Portugal.
The four titles are: “Portugal 2014-2017” by Mirko Zardini, “Bolívia, 2016” by Guilherme Wisnik, “Marrocos 1967” by Alexandre Alves Costa and Álvaro Siza Vieira (reedition), and “2012 Arcosanti” by Pedro Bandeira.
According to the publishing house, this collection Journeys has as aim “to construct a map of emotions from unique journeys undertaken by recognised personalities in the architecture world. A tour around the various continents, but also the universe of its authors”.
At the end of the presentation there will be a debate between Pedro Baía, Magda Seifert, Eliana Sousa Santos and Pedro Bandeira.
“Portugal 2014-2017” by Mirko Zardini
This book gathers texts and images by Mirko Zardini and his travels to Porto and Lisbon, between 2014 and 2017, during the process of the donation of part of the Álvaro Siza archive to the CCA — Canadian Centre for Architecture.
“Bolívia, 2016” by Guilherme Wisnik
The author takes us to Bolivia, in a trip made in 2016 with photographer Tatewaki Nio, in search of the so-called neo-andean architecture.
“Marrocos 1967” by Alexandre Alves Costa and Álvaro Siza Vieira
Re-edition of this book that follows a trip to Marroco made by the authors with a group of friends when they were 25 to 35 years old: Beatrice Ekroth, José Grade, Luísa Brandão, Maria Antónia Leite and Sérgio Fernandez.
“2012 Arcosanti” by Pedro Bandeira
The author takes us to Arcosanti, the city of Paolo Soleri. In a tail about the experience of driving the American interior by car, avoiding cities and “collecting nature parks and deserts”, Bandeira wanders between the desert and the meaning of the trip.
