VI PER & Triennale together for an exhibition

Location
Lisbon
Co-Production
VI PER, LINA community

VI PER Gallery, based in Prague, focuses on architecture in its broadest sense and its intersections with contemporary art, urbanism, design, and media. As part of the Creative Europe architecture programme, it has launched two open calls – one for publications and the other for an exhibition – providing a platform for interdisciplinary research and debate with an emphasis on exploring future solutions and paths forward.

The double call welcomes fresh ideas focusing on proposals that propel significant public engagement with urgent societal and political issues such as social inequality, gender, migration, human rights, and the climate crisis. Past VI PER explorations dealt with social concerns including queerness, contested sites of memory, and spaces of collectivity. By illuminating the connected potential of architecture and art in addressing critical issues, the gallery now aims to foster impactful conversations that resonate with diverse audiences.

The exhibition's call brings together VI PER Gallery and Lisbon Triennale, seeking an individual or collective curatorial approach. Working closely with both institutions, the selected curatorial team will develop an original concept and create a programme of related events to be showcased in Prague in early 2025 and afterwards at the Triennale's 18th-century palace housing an architecture centre. The presentation in Lisbon will be part of the ongoing Lina members take-over series, which began in April 2023 with Forecast Berlin. This collaboration strengthens the international expression of our public events programme conceived by younger generations.

Within the framework of the LINA community, this open call offers a unique opportunity for individuals and groups from diverse professional backgrounds to contribute to a more inclusive and visionary future. Residents of Creative Europe's 40 countries can apply until August 1 2023. Submissions must be made through the LINA open call and select "The Future of Architecture—Writing and Curating Grants."
