IRS Consignment doubles in 2025

When you file your 2024 tax return by June 30, you have a bigger opportunity to help social and cultural solidarity associations by contributing to the continuity of our work.

It is now possible to opt for a 1% tax credit for an organization with Public Utility Status like Lisbon Triennale, instead of the usual 0.5%,

The project bill that doubles support for thousands of associations was approved in May 2024 and the Minister for the Presidency, António Leitão Amaro, made a point of emphasizing that “the taxes [that the Portuguese pay] are the product of their work, their effort, their investment. With this we reinforce the freedom to be able to allocate the proceeds of those taxes.”

Support does not compromise your reimbursement

The IRS consignment allows you to direct part of the tax that would otherwise go to the state to an institution of your choice, such as our association.

It's important to remember that the taxpayer's refund is not affected, i.e. they won't receive less or pay more, since this amount is taken from the tax owed to the state. Therefore, taxpayers can better direct the taxes that result from their tax return, without paying more.

Portugal has more than five thousand entities on the list of beneficiaries of the Tax and Customs Authority.
