A cycle of three visits to building sites in Lisbon. In the selection of projects are included public and private buildings, of different scales, phases and typologies.
MAAT – Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology (2017) – Amanda Levete
MAAT will be the central piece of the 38 000 square meter area that EDP Foundation occupies on the north bank of river Tagus. The iconic early 20th century electric power plant will co-exist, side-by-side, with the new building designed by Amanda Levete Architects. The new construction includes four exhibition spaces totalling up to 3000 square meters. The two buildings will be joined by a park developed by the landscape architect Vladimir Djurovic, contributing with an ample free circulation exterior space to this Lisbon riverside area. The construction of the EDP Foundation Campus will be completed in March 2017.
