The Nordic Satellite at 2016 Lisbon Architecture Triennale is an invitation for a conversation between Nordic and Portuguese Architects, bringing together schools from Denmark, Norway, Finland, Sweden and Portugal.
The Power of Experiment Publication is the final result of this meeting that had a workshop in October and an exhibition opened on 24 November. The book is a collective reflection extended to a wider audience, aiming to build bridges and share knowledge between pedagogies, practices and different generations of architects.
The Power of Experiment proposes to constitute a space for reflection that reinforces the relations between research / theory (carried out in the school context) and the architectural practice. Exposes pedagogies of 5 Nordic Masters programs and 2 Portuguese, deconstructing the preconceived ideas about the role of the architect and the discipline.
The invited guests for this launch are Luís Santiago Baptista e Pedro Campos Costa will cross different perspectives of reading the Book between theory and practice. With free admission, takes place on 12 December at 6.30pm in the Quadrum Gallery.
The book will be on sale at the venue, an edition of Artéria atelier that compiles 228 pages with contributions from teachers, students, curators and invited guests.
