Cova da Moura is a unique place in the Metropolitan Area of Lisbon and for that reason object of scientific curiosity of many disciplines. This is a piece of urbanity built by the people who live or have lived in this neighbourhood. It’s therefore, an heterogeneous fabric developed between self-built and community building of socialization places. The population has different origins but essentially arrived from Africa through decolonization and emigration processes following the Portuguese democratic revolution of 1974. Moinho da Juventude actively participates in the welcome and definition of the guided-tour, which is a good example of cultural, social and economic autonomy of the neighborhood. This will be the only guided-tour of this project, which the walk will be drawn for the understanding of a specific identity that can speak so much about the metropolitan construction in democratic times.
The visits are free.
