Margarita Jover graduated in architecture from ETSAV, Polytechnic University of Catalonia in 1995. One year later, she and her partner Iñaki Alday founded aldayjover architecture and landscape in Barcelona, specializing in public architecture and landscaping. The firm has been awarded the European Public Space Prize (2002) and several Spanish and Iberian prizes. In September 2011 aldayjover architecture and landscape opened new offices in Charlottesville (Virginia), USA, where Margarita Jover joined the School of Architecture of the University of Virginia as a Professor of Practice.
