Based in Lisbon, Nuno Cera is a photographer and video artist, exploring spatial conditions, architecture and urban situations through fictional and poetic documentary forms. He graduated in advertising from IADE, Lisbon in 1995, and was awarded a Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation João Hogan scholarship for resident artists at the Künstlerhaus Bethanien in Berlin in 2001. In 2003 he published Cimêncio with Diogo Seixas Lopes. In 2006 he received an artistic residency at the ISCP – International Studios and Curatorial Program, New York. He was also awarded a Fundación Botin grant for his project The Symphony of the Unknown.
Recent solo exhibitions include: Symphony of the Unknown, Kunstraum Botschaft – (Berlin, 2016); L’Annèe Derniére, Galeria Miguel Nabinho (Lisbon, 2016).
