Nice and its OVNi festival welcomes Lisbon Acts exhibition

After Belgrade and Croatia, Lisbon Acts is now representing Portugal at the 5th edition of the Urbanism and Architecture Forum of the city of Nice under the title OVNi - Objectif Video Nice (UFO in french) taking place from 22 November to 1 December 2019. The french city will be concurrently celebrating the 100th anniversary of Victorine Studios, an historic place for the film Industry on the French Riviera. For 2019 the festival is featuring videos inspired by cinema throughout its various exhibition spaces, and will be divided into three parts : OVNi in the city, OVNi at the Hotel and OVNi Galleries.

OVNi in the city offers a video tour of Nice museums, cultural centers, private apartments and underground venues such as MAMAC and Pole 109. OVNi at the Hotel is opening the doors of several hotels throughout the city to the public with french and foreign art installations located within the rooms and reception areas of these prime locations. OVNi Galleries offers an art walk through the renowned Windsor Hotel, that features plastic works and video art, between “light rooms” and “dark rooms”, in addition to a special transformation of the lobby and garden. A professional jury will reward the best video and in-room projects conceived for this occasion.

The ten day festival OVNI, opening on 22 November, is hosting the presentation of the film Filomena, directed by Pedro Cabeleira with the six photos of Catarina Botelho and the fiction book written by Patrícia Portela held at the Forum d’Urbanisme et d’Architecture (89, route de Turin, Nice, France). This venue is also screening a film of the Portuguese artist João Onofre.

The Lisbon Architecture Triennale is happy to take part of this international forum dedicated to the relation between film and architecture. The event is a meeting place gathering the local inhabitants and the visitors of this south city of France.
