The partnerships that build Terra
For over 15 years, the Lisbon Triennale has been relying on the significant support of public bodies and private foundations, all united by a strong sense of commitment to the promotion of architectural culture that is essential to the success of our programme. Since the 1st edition in 2007, we have benefited from the High Patronage of His Excellency the President of the Portuguese Republic, represented in 2022 by Professor Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa. In addition to the funding from the Directorate-General for the Arts and the Ministry of Culture, we have gathered three strategic partnerships with the Lisbon City Council, the EDP Foundation and the Millennium bcp Foundation which support all our activities throughout the festival.
Besides these cooperations, the production of a large-scale event such as the Lisbon Triennale edition is a demanding task that implies a collective engagement. In this context, ATL, the Lisbon Tourism Association, has always been a fundamental ally by supporting the coming of European journalists and architecture critics from generalist and specialised media to Lisbon every three years, amplifying each edition’s reflections abroad. We have also been collaborating with FabLab Lisboa, a digital fabrication laboratory, to develop 3D models for different exhibitions over the years. In 2022, the official hotel is the Açores of Bensaude Hotels Collection group, offering a privileged view of the renovated green area of Praça de Espanha.
For Terra, the 6th edition, we have built a vast network of partnerships, whose valuable contribution is a key component of the event. With hundreds of participants of varied nationalities, we also benefit from the collaboration with renowned institutions oriented towards the international promotion of the cultural sector: AC/E Acción Cultural Española, Institut Français du Portugal, Instituto Italiano di Cultura and the Holcim Foundation.
Our official sponsor this year is Vanguard Properties, which stands out for its commitment to environmental sustainability in its projects, from the optimization of irrigation systems to lighting and wastewater treatment, among others. Three other companies, operating in sectors related to architecture and construction, are our sponsors: the Portuguese JR Botas, representing international brands of sanitary equipment, furniture and interior doors since 1995; the multinational Saint-Gobain Placo, which designs, manufactures and distributes construction materials and solutions; and ValorPneu, focused on systems for managing and processing the flow of used tyres.
Lastly, a wide range of associated brands provide us with products or services necessary for properly building our main exhibitions: MPG, panoramah!, Multiplacas, WMT, Seveme, Hansgrohe and AXOR. This broad network of firms and institutions shares a common value towards architectural culture. Together, they support Terra, our initiative to inspire new models of action and help spread a creative driving force contributing to the future of ecology in architecture.
