Trienal de Arquitectura de Lisboa

Triennale is one of the participants of FITUR

Invited by Turismo de Portugal, the Lisbon Architecture Triennale was present at FITUR - Madrid International Tourism Fair, which takes place from 18 to 22 January 2012. As a global meeting point for professionals in the area, FITUR is the main fair for the Ibero-American market. Architecture comes from Portugal [and we show it to you] is a group dedicated to the promotion of architecture that, from Fernando Guerra's photographic images, reveals some of the most emblematic contemporary buildings in the country. It aims to appeal to the discovery of the country from the iconic projects and works that Portugal has, and which are increasingly relevant to attract cultural and thematic tourism.

With more than 200 thousand visitors, the largest tourism fair in the Spanish capital hosted the Triennale at the Portuguese stand, with a strong bet on the visual appeal that contemplated distinct areas of information and international consecration of cultural fields, such as architecture, literature, music, gastronomy or plastic arts. With about a thousand square meters, the space also praised the works of Eduardo Souto de Moura, José Saramago, Fado and Joana Vasconcelos, author of a three-metre high ice sculpture made in pieces related to the beach.

The Portuguese representation included also architectural photographs by FG+SG and the graphic design of the Vivóeusébio collective. And, in the end, it was the space distinguished as the best in the "Countries" category, standing out among 166 representations.
