Trienal de Arquitectura de Lisboa

Order recognises the Triennale activity

The Lisbon Architecture Triennale was awarded the title of Honorary Member of the Order of Architects. Annually, the Order recognises personal or collective activities directly or indirectly linked to architecture and with proven relevant contributions within the scope of its statutory objectives.

The public celebration of this distinction, on 27 October 2022, which included 12 new honorary members, was part of this year's solemn session of the World Architecture Day Celebrations in the Nuno Teotónio Pereira auditorium, at the national headquarters of the Portuguese Order of Architects, which José Mateus, founder and president of the Triennale, attended on behalf of the association.

We celebrate 15 years of existence. It is a great honour for us to receive this recognition of an activity that has been consistently developed since 2007 through research, fostering and promotion of architectural thought and practice, a work that is not limited to the forum of debate, reflection and dissemination that crosses disciplinary and geographic boundaries every three years.

The 6th edition, Terra - open until 5 December - has also had a good reception by critics and professionals, as the specialised press reveals:

«Lisbon Architecture Triennale 2022 offers a fresh exploration of Earth», Natasha Levy in Wallpaper, 6/10/2022

Each edition of the Lisbon Architecture Triennale has been distinguished with the High Sponsorship of His Excellency the President of the Portuguese Republic. We have borne the Public Utility Statute since 2013, and the status of Cultural Interest conferred by the Ministry of Culture since 2010.
