Frontier Spaces: Sines – A More than Imperfect Future

ohlisboa15_escolabraamcampf_lrpedrosadio0010_wb

Two visits to the exhibition that pretend to reflect and extend its most important concepts.

Geographer Álvaro Domingues will talk about Sines’ more than imperfect future, recovering its history since the 1960s utopic plans for the Pólo de Desenvolvimento de Sines. It was a time of certainty, technological wonders and profound industrialization. The 1973 oil crisis, the revolution in 1974, the present-day market deregulation, the Troika, all these factors have contributed to the slow death of one of our last technological utopias.
