Geographer Álvaro Domingues will talk about Sines’ more than imperfect future, recovering its history since the 1960s utopic plans for the Pólo de Desenvolvimento de Sines. It was a time of certainty, technological wonders and profound industrialization. The 1973 oil crisis, the revolution in 1974, the present-day market deregulation, the Troika, all these factors have contributed to the slow death of one of our last technological utopias.
