Bureau A (CH)

Founded in 2012, Bureau A was set up by the architects Leopold Banchini and Daniel Zamarbide. Bureau A is a multidisciplinary platform that seeks to blur the boundaries between research and the architectural design project, regardless of type and condition.
Bureau A is profoundly rooted in architectural culture and history, which it sees as a vast field of exploration of construction and the installation of environments for specific purposes. The firm extends its work field to include a wide range of programmes ranging from architecture and landscaping to scenography, installations and self-building initiatives. It has developed a specific interest in public spaces and political issues; how design and architecture can approach these is at the heart of the firm’s investigative work principles.
