In contrast to the traditional architectural process, in which the architect designs and the builder builds, in ConstructLab projects the architect designs and builds. The building site is a place that enriches the design project, with unexpected opportunities that only it can provide.
Places are imbued with life through a constant presence that generates new dynamics and integrates stakeholders. The idea behind Construct Lab is to rediscover the construction-related intelligence of the materials themselves; it is designing simultaneously with the use of the materials. Its main principles are low-tech and simplicity, developing an approach in which production techniques can be appropriated and used by any one, without striving for technical virtuosity. ConstructLab is more an exploration of construction than a mere construction method.
