Lectures
The shared experience of discussing first-hand knowledge from different contexts is one of the most powerful ways to engage with architectural discourse. Our lectures foster these ongoing moments of tuning in a broad public dialogue.
Since 2023, Conversas et al. have transformed the Triennale's cultural centre into a meeting place for intimate gatherings with emerging Portuguese studios. Against a backdrop of low commissions and high expectations, they openly discuss their successes and obstacles with honesty and humour. Without a moderator or presentations, each studio brings a plus-one from outside the discipline.
Common Field, curated by Diana Menino and Felipe De Ferrari, addresses the strategic condition of architecture as an imperative for change. Radical and optimistic practices debate how to build emancipatory and pragmatic processes between communities, people and the environment. As a legacy of the co-production with the CCB, the lectures are available online.
Critical Distance brings together leading contemporary figures with unique careers, acclaimed by critics and peers. In order to address unconventional forms of design, the third round of this cycle points to new paths for the human habitat in extreme conditions, opening up space for fiction, cinema, writing or high technology.
Over time, this broad range of knowledge and ways of doing has coincided with the transformation of the discipline. From large auditoriums to horizontal assemblies, these are the places where the architecture in the making speaks.
