Atelier Barozzi/Veiga

Critical Distance

The main characteristic that distinguishes the work of Barozzi/Veiga, it’s their search for the primordial conditions of a space. With its headquarters in Barcelona, Fabrizio Barozzi and Alberto Veiga founded this studio in 2004. Amongst their built oeuvre, we can highlight the rehabilitation and extension of the Headquarters for the D.O. Ribera del Duero in Roa (Spain), and the Philharmonic Hall in Szczecin (Poland). They have won the competitions for the extension of the Cantonal Museum of Fine Arts in Chur and the new building of the Museum of Fine Arts in Lausanne, both in Switzerland. This winning duo was awarded the prestigious Mies van der Rohe Award.
