Based on two photographs and a vintage light switch, the talk addresses issues associated with architectural practice, particularly those related to image's role. In a way, images summarise a dilemma: they represent (or are produced from) material culture, yet they produce immaterial culture. They record, autonomise and become objects of desire in their own right. Frederico Martinho, through his photography, has accompanied us in this research.
Studio dedicated to a relevant and sensitive practice. Aware of the overstimulation of contemporary life, they strive to design buildings with perceptual solidity, providing stability and comfort for the daily lives they will house. They favour prolonged observation, capable of lifting the gaze through their subtle presence, attention to detail, or enigmatic character.
Master in Architecture with the final dissertation Photography in the Work of Luis Barragán: From the photographic image to the imagination, he develops, through the practice of architecture, photography and writing, a convinced intuition in images as a fundamental stage of politics, environments, the city and the territory.
