About the Place
The renovation of the former IMT complex for the Technologies Valorisation and Transfer Centre at ISCTE [CVTT – ISCTE Knowledge and Innovation] allows for new perspectives on research focused on interdisciplinarity and community life. The design is based on two principles: making the most of the original layout, which is set back somewhat from the avenue outside and allows for a publicly used garden space that is open and integrated into the fabric of urban life; and also making the most of the pre-existing buildings’ structure to reduce the carbon footprint of any new construction. The architectural expression proposed for the new complex establishes an autonomous dialogue of proximity with the ISCTE Campus, which was designed by Raul Hestnes Ferreira.
