This renovation seeks to boost the relationship with the surrounding Cais do Sodré neighbourhood, an area that has been valorised and changed a lot over the last ten years, and also with the church, the Igreja do Corpo Santo, and the nearby River Tagus. To this end, all the reception spaces next to the facades were reorganised, and without disrespecting the original layout, the scale of the rooms was changed to match the size of the apartment: 180 sq. m. The Pombaline character and carpentry elements establish connections to other, contemporary, elements in marble and wood. Openings were also made (or re-made) in order to bring light into the more recessed rooms, the result of two centuries of alterations and various occupations; on the corner is a spacious square room with four windows providing views to the river, the square outside and the street, where one feels the movement of the sun and the changes in the day that was also renovated.
