Casa Maria Borges
- Interventions:

- (2006 reabilitação)
Built 30 years ago, this house seduces for the freedom of use of its rooms and for its privileged location, between Terreiro do Paço and Campo das Cebolas. This area of the city, which recently went through deep intervention, allows for a magnificent spatial sequence. Such a transforming urban character interferes in the beauty of the 200-square-metre dwelling as, through the openings that exist in each of its two floors, there is a piece of Lisbon that invades the inside of the house. The objective of the rehabilitation project was to transform the top floor and attic of this 18th century Pombaline building into a contemporary home, preserving the marks left by the passing of time, which grant it a peculiar character. The lower floor defines the social area of the dwelling, retrieves the existing materials and structure, and absorbs the light coming from the windows. On the upper floor, the structure of the attic is left in plain sight and lanterns reflect the light in the white lacquered floor.
