About the Place
HortaFCUL is a project that was launched in 2009 by students from the Faculty of Sciences at the University of Lisbon. The project aims to explore, research, apply and promote permaculture within society, particularly amongst the university’s academic community. Various model spaces (such as a vegetable garden or a greenhouse), are used to carry out research and practices related to sustainable food production. The principles, strategies and tools of permaculture are introduced through workshops, training sessions and events for different audiences, and their application in everyday life is encouraged.
