This 19th-century farmhouse transformed into an art school is an example of an unexpected adaptation of a rural property with ample indoor and outdoor spaces, subject to successive renovations and expansions. The farm stands on the old route that connected Almada to Monte de Caparica and Trafaria, a route which is mostly a walled lane. The facilities include a bar-cafeteria, an office, a library, laboratories and a photography studio, ceramics kilns, classrooms, and workshop spaces. A visitor to the space gets the feeling of breathing a creative and multidisciplinary atmosphere, the result of a community where artistic teaching is based on practical experimentation.
