House in Restelo II

  • Interventions:
  • João Tiago Aguiar, arquitectos
  • (2024 reabilitação)

This 1950s semi-detached house has been extended to blend the original modernist style with a contemporary approach, creating a contrast between the new and the old. Spanning three floors and an attic, the house has been redesigned to maximise natural light and spatial efficiency, as well as the connection with the outdoors. High-quality materials such as wood, stone and tiles have been used throughout. The semi-underground basement is connected to the garden and outdoor pool and includes an indoor pool. The ground floor comprises a living area with an island kitchen, a dining room and a study. The first floor comprises three en-suite bedrooms, while the spacious attic serves as a gym and a terrace offering views of the Tagus and the Alto do Duque hillside.
