About the Place
A building complex constructed in two very different stages and still in execution. The intervention and expansion in 2008 created two new buildings and renovated the existing ones, adapting the entire complex to the current demands of school activities and programmes. The modern principles that guided the original project are reinterpreted, bringing together new infrastructures that reinforce and optimise the existing qualities. A harmonious dialogue between different materials and construction times is legitimately and unequivocally established. The two new buildings stand out but, at the same time, enhance both interventions in time, in an order that is completed by its living and habitability. At the moment, a second phase of changes is taking place to introduce functional adjustments, creating connections and avoiding building dispersion.
