A 260 m2 single-family home taking up four floors occupies a small plot on a street of collective housing buildings in Príncipe Real. Its facade is an example of a contemporary building whose design is in continuity with the backdrop. The size and form of the openings, as well as the tile cladding, play with the patterns you recognise throughout the city. The tiles with a diagonal relief are placed at 45º. These two characteristics turn a seemingly simple design into something complex, a striking feature of the work of this project’s authors. Inside the house, the vertical organisation shapes itself by a side staircase, which leaves the floor plan relatively free – parking and social area on the ground floor, and bedrooms on the upper floors.
