Surrounding the presidential palace, the new building for this documentation centre is designed with a series of terraces and a landscaped platform that are connected through a large patio. The soil looks like a contained mass from which the vegetation and trees grow. From the outside, the palace has a small, delicate scale. Its quality has more to do with the open spaces: terraces, loggias, balconies, and porches. The intervention introduces another platform, now built in a more complex and sophisticated way than the existing ones. The new building takes on a secondary role to the first national palace, but it also gives it a representative dignity.
